Tetramisol HCL bolus is a broad spectrum anthelmintic veterinary medicine.
1. Composition:

Tetramisol 600mg bolus is White or Yellow colored oblong scored on one side bolus and is a side bolus and is a wide spectrum anthelmintic active against the adult worms and the immature forms of most of the nematodes found in the stomach, intestine and lungs of cattle, sheep, goats and poultry.
Tetramisol 600mg bolus is effective against all stronglyes.
It is non toxic and remains in the blood stream for a long time without giving any special taste or odor to meat or milk of treated animals.
3. Pharmacology: (clinical)
Tetramisol 600mg bolus rapidly absorbed and carried to all parts of body, peak blood level occurs within 2-3 hours and tissue level persists for up to 5 days. The drug is excreted mainly through the faeces and urine, 40% is excreted in the urine within 24 hours.
4. Mode of action:
Most nematodes are expelled within 24 hours. Drug acts as ganglion stimulants and give rise to muscular paralysis in the parasite whereas higher level interfere with carbohydrate metabolism. The blockage occurs at the sight of fumerate reduction and succinate oxidation.
5. Indications:
Tetramisol 600mg bolus is used for the prevention and treatment of parasitic diseases caused by round gastrointestinal and lungworms in cattle, sheep and goats.
Tetramisol 600mg bolus is also recommended in poultry against ascarides and capillarles.
Tetramisol 600mg bolus is a broad spectrum anthelmintic and is active against adult and larval stages of Haemonchus, Ostertagia, Trichostrongylus Cooperia, nematodirus, Bunstomum metastrongylus, Ascaris, Hyostrongylus and Trichuris and against and natural infections. Because of its activity against the larval stages, it is also active against H.Contortus and T.Colubriformis.
6. Dosage and administration:
Tetramisol 600mg bolus is easily administered by oral route by mixing in concen trates since animals do not have any difficulty to swallow it.
Cattle, Sheep, Goats:
1bolus for 40kg body weight to be mixed in feed.
Poultry:
1bolus for 6-12kg body weight to be mixed in feed.
7. Warning and Precautions; Contraindication:
Do not overdose.
Do not use during pregnancy. Especially for the first 45 days of pregnancy.
Long-term continuous use can cause drug resistance and crossed drug resistance.
8. Over dosage adverse reaction/sid effects:
At normal dose level animal rarely show any side effects, the chemotherapeutic index for tetramisole bolus is 3-4 times the recommended dose.
9. Withdrawal time:
Meat 3days
Milk 1day
10. Storage: Store in cool and dark place.
