Premier Li urges integration of Internet with manufacturing


Premier Li Keqiang on May 24 urged promoting the integration of big data and Internet with the manufacturing industry as he met entrepreneurs and experts headed to the China Big Data Industry Summit, to be held in the capital of Southwest China’s Guizhou province.

Domestic and foreign entrepreneurs delivered speeches on innovative cooperation in the big data industry, advanced intelligent manufacturing and sharing economy.

Premier Li said the Chinese economy is now at a crucial stage of transformation and upgrading. The frontier technologies of big data, cloud computing and the sharing economy are conducive to the development of new economy. “We will make efforts to integrate the high technologies of big data and the “Internet Plus” strategy with manufacturing, upgrade and improve traditional industries, maintain China’s economy at a medium-high growth rate, and promote China’s manufacturing to a medium-high-end level,” he said.

The Premier stressed that we should develop more advantages in human resources for transformation of the driving forces of China’s economy. The Premier strongly urged advocating the “craftsmanship spirit” in order to create more products that meet the needs of consumers and the market. Premier Li also urged pushing forward mass entrepreneurship and innovation and create a fair environment of competition for emerging businesses.

Premier Li said China will promote a higher level of reform and opening up. We will pay great attention to the protection of intellectual property rights and trade secrets, as well as strengthening network security, the Premier said. We are striving to create an equal environment for both domestic and foreign enterprises registered in China, he added.

There are huge development potential and investment opportunities in central and western regions of China, and China welcomes foreign enterprises to continue expanding their business in China, especially in central and western regions, to achieve mutual benefits and win-win results, the Premier said.

Representatives at the meeting said information technology is an important driving force for the global economy. The fast development of big data, cloud computing, and mobile Internet helps to promote the upgrading of traditional industry, new economic development and social progress. All parties have positive views toward the Chinese economy and are willing to further cooperate with China in the big data industry, especially with central and western regions.
